WHOLE FITNESS MARCH 2023 VISION BOARD - Flex Your BraveMind/Body/Soul:Teaching:Social Media/Challenge:

“You are not fighting for victory—you are fighting from victory. This battle has already been won!”-Tony Evans, Victory in Spiritual Warfare

“When all is said and done, the life of faith is nothing if not an unending struggle of the spirit with every available weapon against the flesh.” -Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship

“I couldn’t let fear hold my hand. Even though it was a familiar palm, a consistent one even, I knew it would only work to separate what God was going to join together.” -Jackie Hill Perry, Gay Girl, Good God: The Story of Who I Was and Who God Has Always Been

Misc: When we are weak, God is strong in us.

We are people who are dependent upon the Lord’s strength in suffering and trial. Though we are limited, we are made to endure challenges, trials, and temptations because we are a new creation in Christ. Have the courage to face uncomfortable situations or challenges in obedience to God. We fight for our wholeness in Christ in the face of hard things. Because we have been comforted, we comfort others facing trials and hardships. Don’t quit when something is difficult -- exercise, relationships, new habits, discipline, etc. Do the harder thing because it is the right thing -- going the narrow way .“In a wonderful paradox, our weakness and dependency on Christ make us people who can endure hardship. Where we are weak, God is strong. In suffering, pain, and trial, God helps us endure so we can love others.” - Revelation Wellness

Flex Your Brave by Kim R. “I heard this phrase not too long ago and it really hit me. Flex your brave. It has turned into one of my favorite mantras and I am passing it on to anyone who will listen. Brave is defined as ready to face and endure danger or pain; showing courage. To me, being brave doesn't mean being fearless, but showing up, even when you are full of fear. It means doing it scared, even when you would rather not. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear (or timidity), but one of power, love and self-discipline (or a sound mind)." We are brave because God gave us a spirit of power, not fear. We are brave because God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but one who is audacious and bold. Flexing your brave means trying things that make you fearful, truly getting comfortable being uncomfortable. Just like our muscles, we need to train our brave. Every little moment we get to flex our brave builds our brave muscles to endure the more difficult moments. This month we are focusing on flexing our brave muscles. Let's venture outside of our comfort zones and truly get comfortable being uncomfortable. Be bold. Take the first step towards your big dream. Go talk to the person you see everyday but are a little fearful to approach. Make the first move. Apologize. Try something new. So many ways we can flex are brave. How will you flex yours?” - Kim R. Week 1: How is God calling you to flex your brave to try something new? Week 2: How is God calling you flex your brave in the unknown? Week 3: How is God asking you to flex your brave and connect with others? Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear (or timidity), but one of power, love and self-discipline (or a sound mind)." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; when we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world—right up to this moment.” -1 Corinthians 4:11-13 “For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” - Hebrews 12:2 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” -1 Corinthians 10:13
