I train to take care of the body God has given me. God changed my belief on my why for working out. It used to be all about me and “look what I can do”. Now, it’s about taking care of His body so I can do what He's calling me to do.
This past year, I noticed my physical body plateaued and I needed a challenge. My husband and I signed up for a half marathon. *Side note, so much better to have an accountability partner. I could not have done this without him.
I didn’t sign up to prove a point. I signed up to keep challenging and strengthening my body as it ages. My goal wasn’t about how fast I could run but that I would, by the grace of God, cross the finish line.
When my legs and lungs started to burn, I would pray and ask God to protect me and help finish. He reminded me of a previous Whole Fitness theme: "I can do hard things." God did it, He helped me cross the finish line! I can definitely say this kicked me off my plateau and made me stronger: mentally, physically and spiritually.
